About the 21st CCLC Grant

In 2014, Borton was awarded a 5-year grant to fund a 21st Century Community Learning Center after school program. This is a federally funded program that helps students who need academic assistance in reading and math meet the core standards.

This grant funds before and after school and summer school programs. The intent of the grant is to assist students in increasing academic achievement through after school classes and family engagement. The program’s effectiveness is measured based on participation and the improved academic achievement of participating students.

Students with academic needs are given priority, then the program will be filled based on the space available. This is the reason for the invitation process. We hope to accept all the students who apply, though we cannot guarantee they will get their first choice classes.

21st Century Community Learning Centers grants are awarded through a competitive process by the Arizona Department of Education from funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education.

Centro de Aprendizaje Comunitario del Siglo 21 las becas se otorgarán a través de un proceso competitivo por el Departamento de Educación de Arizona de los fondos aportados por el Departamento de Educación de los Estados Unidos.
